How to Set Up Proxies in AdsPower

Add a BirdProxies residential or ISP proxy to a AdsPower browser profile in about five minutes. One proxy per profile, geo-matched, fully isolated.

Overview

To set up BirdProxies in AdsPower, generate a residential or ISP proxy in your dashboard, create a browser profile, open the profile's proxy settings, choose the custom proxy option, enter your host, port, username, and password, then test and save. The whole process takes about five minutes per profile.

AdsPower is an anti-detect browser used for managing multiple accounts with isolated fingerprints. Pairing each profile with its own BirdProxies IP gives every account a clean, residential network identity that matches its browser fingerprint, which is what keeps multi-account operations safe.

What You Need

  • A BirdProxies proxy - either a residential proxy or an ISP proxy. Both work with AdsPower.
  • Your credentials in `host:port:user:pass` format. You generate these inside the BirdProxies dashboard, not in AdsPower.
  • AdsPower installed with at least one browser profile created.

Residential proxies are billed by traffic and rotate or stick depending on your session settings. ISP proxies give you a fixed static IP, which is ideal for long-lived accounts that should always log in from the same address.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Generate your BirdProxies credentials Log in to your dashboard and create a residential or ISP proxy. Copy the host, port, username, and password.
2. Create or edit a profile Open the Profiles section in AdsPower and create a new profile (or edit an existing one). Use one profile per account.
3. Open the proxy section In the profile configuration, find the proxy settings. Choose the custom or self-built proxy option instead of any bundled provider.
4. Pick the protocol Set the type to HTTP (recommended) or SOCKS5.
5. Enter your details Fill in the host, port, username, and password from your dashboard.
6. Test the connection Use the built-in proxy check to confirm the IP and country resolve as expected.
7. Save and launch Save the profile and start the browser. Your traffic now routes through your BirdProxies IP.

Tips for Best Results

  • One proxy per profile Never share a single IP across multiple accounts. Isolation is the whole point of an anti-detect browser.
  • Sticky vs rotating Use a sticky session for logged-in accounts so the IP stays consistent across visits. Use rotating proxies for scraping or research workflows where a fresh IP per request helps.
  • Match the geo Pick a proxy in the same country (or city, where possible) as the account's expected location. A German account logging in from a US IP looks suspicious.
  • Prefer ISP for long-term accounts A static ISP proxy gives a permanent IP that does not change, which builds trust over time for valuable accounts.

Troubleshooting

  • Connection failed Re-check the host, port, username, and password for typos. Confirm the proxy is active in your dashboard.
  • Wrong country shown You may have selected a different region when generating the proxy. Regenerate with the correct geo target.
  • Authentication error If your password contains special characters, make sure they are entered exactly as shown. Regenerate the credentials if in doubt.
  • Slow load times Rotating residential IPs vary in speed. Switch to a sticky session or an ISP proxy for more consistent performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does AdsPower support BirdProxies residential and ISP proxies?

Yes. AdsPower works with any standard HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy. BirdProxies residential and ISP proxies use username and password authentication, which AdsPower fully supports through its custom proxy option.

Should I use HTTP or SOCKS5?

Either works. HTTP is the simplest and most compatible choice for browser profiles. Choose SOCKS5 only if your workflow specifically requires it.

Can I use one proxy for multiple profiles?

For multi-account work, use one dedicated proxy per profile. Sharing a single IP across several accounts is one of the fastest ways to get accounts linked and banned.

Why does my proxy test fail?

Most failures come from a typo in the host, port, username, or password, or from special characters that need escaping. Re-copy the credentials from your dashboard and confirm the proxy is active.
