Reddit removed your comment in two minutes: which 2026 filters the IP touches

BirdProxiesOctober 6, 202610 min read

A BlackHatWorld thread titled "Are Reddit account fillters getting stricter in 2026?" asks what thirty threads have asked over the last three weeks: "For people actively working with Reddit have you noticed the filters becoming more aggressive lately? What changes have made the biggest difference for you?" A thread titled "looking for reddit freelancers" put a number on it: "we have a lot of clients for reddit, but last week 90% of our accs blocked."

We have two Reddit posts already: why Reddit bans accounts rather than addresses and still uses the IP to link them, and bandwidth, API or browser. Neither answers this year's questions: comments gone in two minutes, verification loops on a full antidetect setup, suspension after one API comment, "can Reddit flag a whole device", how to warm up. We sell addresses. So, item by item: is the address even in the room?

A comment removed in two minutes is a filter reading the account and the text, not the address

A comment that disappears within minutes was removed by a subreddit's AutoModerator rules or by Reddit's site-wide spam filter, and both act on the account's age, its karma and the comment itself. The IP takes no part in that decision.

The thread "Every comment removed by reddit in 2-4 minutes today. Need advise" got this reply: "using a residential proxy and rotating user agents can help mitigate this issue, at least to some extent. It's also worth varying your ..." That advice would sell our product, and it is wrong. A two-minute removal is a rule firing. AutoModerator rules are set per subreddit, often a minimum age or karma before a comment shows, and Reddit's spam filter above them catches new accounts posting links or repeated text. Neither reads the address.

Page 4 of the "stricter in 2026" thread fits: "even waiting 1 to 2 months for an edit doesnt work. i tried a few and they were removed automatically very quickly with the new a A little karma helps..." Waiting did nothing. Karma did, a little.

A shadowban is the quieter version, comments visible to you and nobody else. "How to spam reddit without getting shadowbanned?" got its answer from the forum: "you can't really spam Reddit without risking a shadowban. If you want the account to last, focus on posting useful comments". We agree, and we sell nothing that changes it.

Human verification loops are a trust score, and a shared exit is one input

Reddit's human verification is a bot check that fires when a session scores as untrusted, and the address is one input alongside the browser, the account's history and what it is doing. From the thread "Reddit Human Verification": "I'm using the Anti-Detect browser Anty and a proxy; previously, everything worked more stably, and Reddit didn't have any issues with me."

Here the address matters, partly. A rotating residential exit is a household address shared with strangers this hour, and it arrives with their score attached. A reply in the "stricter in 2026" thread says: "Also avoid shared IPs/proxies, they flag patterns fast." The same reply continues: "I run a large number of accounts every day using an anonymous browser and rotating residential proxies, but I don't have any of these problems." Rotating residential is a shared pool by definition, so the two sentences disagree; the second is one operator's luck with one pool.

A loop that returns after every solve is telling you the browser profile or the behaviour still scores low. Changing the exit buys a different third of the score.

Suspended after one API comment, only on proxies: three bot signals at once

An account suspended seconds after its first API comment, and only when a proxy is in the path, is judged on three things together: a brand new account, a script's user agent, and an exit that does not look like a home. The thread tagged "suspension": "I've been running into an issue with accounts getting suspended right after posting a single comment via Reddit's API. This happens whenever I'm using proxies".

Without the proxy the same script survives, so the address is the difference, but only because the other two signals were already there. A new account whose first action is an API write from a datacenter or shared exit is a complete description of a bot. A real ISP address in the account's country, held still from the first login, is the leg we can supply. The script and the zero-age account are yours.

Can Reddit flag a whole device? Yes, and no address touches it

Reddit can recognise a device or browser fingerprint across accounts, and a proxy changes nothing about that, because the browser sends the fingerprint whatever address it connects from. "Can reddit flagge a whole device ?" got the right reply: "Yes, it's possible Reddit has flagged your device or browser fingerprint. Try using a completely fresh setup new device or virtual machine, clean browser, and ..."

From "Reddit banning every account i make.": "I was using a VPN and switching for each location but that was not enough. I have heard multilogin can help solve this with different IPs." Switching VPN locations changed one layer. The device stayed the same.

Behaviour is a fingerprint too. A reply in "My Reddit Accounts are constantly Banning I could Pay": "It will become obvious why any acount might get flaged for the existence of behavioral fingerprint pattern regardles of how clean the proxies are." Same posting hour, same comment length, same subreddits. A clean address carries that pattern faithfully. The "Reddit cold dm service" poster: "I'm getting banned across every device, proxy, and aged account I throw at it". When everything dies, the shared thing is the operation.

Desktop, not mobile emulators

The author of "Some clarity on Reddit bans: IP types and browsers" puts the device first: "Browsers: desktop, not mobile emulators I always work with a desktop machine, an anti-detect browser and proxies." We cannot verify their results, but an emulated phone has an emulated fingerprint.

Warm-up is behaviour and time, and the address's one job is to never change

Warming a Reddit account means reading, voting and commenting as a person would for weeks before it does anything you need from it, and the address contributes only by staying the same for all of that time. The tag "reddit warmup" has the question raw: "Does anyone have idea regarding warming up Reddit accounts. I have got some reddit accounts with no karma, many of them got suspended already".

Suspended before any karma. That is the first section's filter meeting a zero-age account. An account that reads for a week, votes for a week, then comments where a new voice is welcome, builds the karma the page-4 poster said "helps". Even so, "Has Reddit Become More Difficult to Work With in 2026?" reports the ceiling: "even accounts with decent history can sometimes run into..." History lowers the odds. Nothing zeroes them.

Residential or mobile for creation and warm-up

The thread "Proxy for Reddit accounts" asks: "what's best for Reddit account creation/warm-up and looking to build them long term? Residential proxies or mobile?" For an account you want to keep for a year, neither as usually sold. Rotating residential is a shared pool, and a sticky session moves the account every half hour. A mobile address is shared across a cell and rotates, fine for a phone, odd for an account. Do you actually need mobile proxies lists where mobile earns its price.

What fits is a static ISP address: one real ISP-range address, one account, in the account's country, from the signup form to the end of its life. We screen ours for fraud score before sale, and the dashboard has a free IP lookup. It does not warm anything. It keeps the warm-up from being interrupted by a move, and there is no data meter (the second post has those numbers).

Ban waves: one person's cadence, and what the address adds to a wave

A ban wave is a batch of enforcement decisions landing at once, and the address contributes to it as a link between accounts, not as a target. A reply in "Have You Noticed That Reddit Has Been Banning a Lot of Accounts for no clear reason" states a schedule: "Reddit usually runs ban waves every 3–4 months, Reddit much stricter with spam signals, multiple accounts, VPN/proxy use, and low-trust activity." That cadence is one forum user's observation. Reddit publishes none and we have no data on it.

Three of the four items after the number are account and behaviour. "VPN/proxy use" is the address: a class Reddit recognises as not a home, or one that too many accounts have shared. A reply in "Is the Reddit End Near? AI Citation Drops, Google Deal, and Mass Account Bans" adds: "Any weird IP access, proxies etc, it will get sniped. The proxy situation is the same whether the account was purchased or created." That is how 90% goes in a week: the accounts shared enough to be one cluster, and the address is one of the things they can share.

The 2026 list, sorted by whether the address is in the room

Of this month's complaints, the address is part of two and absent from the rest. Present: verification loops (one input of several) and the one-API-comment suspension (one signal of three). Absent: comment removals, device flags, behaviour patterns, and the new account that cannot DM, as in "I can't send direct messages on Reddit?" (Reddit wants a verified email and some age or karma first, the thresholds are unpublished and vary). Email and phone verification at signup, the subject of "Trying to manage Reddit accounts. Issues with Email & account creation", is not an address problem either.

Where the address is present, the fix is boring: one real ISP address per account, in the account's country, never shared, never rotated, from the signup form onward. The setup is on the Reddit page. Where it is absent, keep the money.

FAQ

Why does Reddit remove my comment within two minutes?

A removal that fast is a subreddit AutoModerator rule or Reddit's spam filter acting on your account's age, its karma and the comment's content. Those rules do not read your IP, so a different proxy changes nothing.

Why do I get Reddit human verification on an antidetect browser with a proxy?

Because the check is a trust score across the browser profile, the account's history, its behaviour and the address, and a shared or heavily reused exit lowers it. If the loop returns after you change the exit, the browser or the behaviour still scores low.

Why was my Reddit account suspended after one API comment on a proxy?

A new account, a script's user agent and a datacenter or shared exit, all in one first action, is how a bot looks. The address is one of those three. A held-still ISP address removes one of them.

Can Reddit flag my whole device?

Yes. Reddit can recognise a browser fingerprint or device across accounts, and the fingerprint travels with the browser whatever address you connect from. A proxy does nothing here; a fresh profile on a clean setup, with different behaviour, is the only route.

How do I warm up a Reddit account?

Read, vote and comment like a person for weeks before the account does anything promotional. There is no shortcut. The address's only job is to stay the same for the whole period.

Residential or mobile proxies for Reddit account creation and warm-up?

For an account you want long term, neither as usually sold: rotating residential is a shared pool, mobile is shared across a cell and rotates. One static ISP address per account, held from signup onward, is the fit.

Does Reddit run ban waves every 3-4 months?

That cadence is one BlackHatWorld user's observation and Reddit publishes no schedule, so treat it as a guess. A wave hits accounts that share enough to be one cluster.
