Overview

To set up BirdProxies in Octo Browser, generate a residential or ISP proxy in your dashboard, create a profile, open the profile's proxy section, enter your host, port, username, and password, then check and save. It takes about five minutes per profile.

Octo Browser is an anti-detect browser for managing multiple accounts with isolated fingerprints. Assigning each profile its own BirdProxies IP gives every account a clean residential network identity that matches its fingerprint, which keeps your accounts from being linked.

What You Need

  • A BirdProxies proxy - a residential proxy or an ISP proxy. Both work with Octo Browser.
  • Your credentials in `host:port:user:pass` format, generated in the BirdProxies dashboard.
  • Octo Browser installed with at least one profile created.

Residential proxies are billed by traffic and can be sticky or rotating. ISP proxies provide a fixed static IP, which is best for long-lived accounts that should always log in from the same address.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Generate your BirdProxies credentials Create a residential or ISP proxy in your dashboard and copy the host, port, username, and password.
2. Create or edit a profile Make a new Octo Browser profile or edit one. Use one profile per account.
3. Open the proxy section In the profile editor, open the proxy section and add a new custom proxy.
4. Pick the protocol Choose HTTP (recommended) or SOCKS5.
5. Enter your details Fill in the host, port, username, and password.
6. Check the connection Use the proxy check to confirm the IP and country.
7. Save and launch Save the profile and start the browser. Traffic now routes through your BirdProxies IP.

Tips for Best Results

  • One proxy per profile Never share an IP between accounts. Isolation is the core benefit of Octo Browser.
  • Sticky vs rotating Use a sticky session for logged-in accounts to keep the IP stable. Use rotating proxies for scraping or research.
  • Match the geo Pick a proxy in the same country as the account's expected location so IP and timezone align.
  • Prefer ISP for long-term accounts A static ISP proxy keeps a permanent IP that builds trust over time.

Troubleshooting

  • Connection failed Re-check the host, port, username, and password. Confirm the proxy is active in your dashboard.
  • Wrong country shown Regenerate the proxy with the correct geo target.
  • Authentication error Enter special characters exactly, or regenerate the credentials.
  • Slow performance Switch to a sticky session or an ISP proxy for steadier speeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Octo Browser work with BirdProxies?

Yes. Octo Browser supports HTTP and SOCKS5 proxies with username and password authentication, which is exactly how BirdProxies residential and ISP proxies are delivered.

HTTP or SOCKS5?

HTTP is the simplest and most compatible. Use SOCKS5 only if your workflow specifically needs it.

Can I reuse one proxy across profiles?

For multi-account work, use one dedicated proxy per profile. A shared IP across accounts often leads to linking and bans.

Why does the proxy check fail?

Most failures are a typo in the host, port, username, or password, or special characters entered incorrectly. Re-copy the credentials and confirm the proxy is active.
